U8 Pre-Travel Academy
Academy soccer is the bridge from recreational to travel soccer for players ages (U8). Academy soccer is more competitive than recreational soccer, while offering the best of both programs. Although players do not have to play academy soccer to move on to travel soccer, academy programs prepare players for the competative environment of travel teams.
This program is designed for players ages (U8) who are more serious about soccer, that excel on their teams and need or want a more competitive and challenging environment to develop as young athletes. The Pre-Travel Academy is designed to provide a competitive atmosphere while furnishing the players with positive experiences to nurture their self-esteem, confidence and passion for the game.
Players will be introduced to age appropriate training curriculum focused primarily on foot skills and the introduction of basic soccer concepts in order to offer the highest development program for U8 players.
MSC will form two Pre-Travel Academy teams, U8 Boys & U8 Girls.
During the fall or spring seasons, the U8 Academy players will practice once a week with their recreation team and once a week with their Academy team. The goal is to play a 3-6 games against other clubs development teams on the weekends, in addition to scheduled recreation games. There may be an optional tournament.
Note: The players will train and play games each week with their assigned recreation team in addition to the Pre-Travel Academy.
The Pre-Travel Academy will most likely comprise the base player pool for our U9 travel teams for the following fall.
To improve players Technical Skills (Dribbling, 1v1, Passing-Receiving and Finishing)

To prepare players for the transition to travel soccer at U9
